A spring sunset from the near summit of Broken Top Mountain in the Three Sisters Wilderness, OR. I made summit just before sunset, saw this composition of the final sunlight hitting a steep snowbank, set up my Nikon D810 with a wide angle lens, and then found shelter on the other side of the rocks to get out of the wind and enjoy my IPA while the camera and sun went through their routines. On a side note, I didn't stay the night up here as I only had a day pack, and running shorts. Boot Skiing (exactly what it sounds like) down snow in the starlight made for a memorable descent of this amazing Mountain. 6/5/2016 -Mark Lehrbass
Incredibly dynamic night skies over Central Oregon. Bend and Redmond city lights can be seen reflecting on the clouds above them. The 1/2 full moon had perfect conditions to reveal a moon halo for most of the night which is caused by it's light reflecting off ice crystals in the thin layer of Cirrus clouds. 10/24/2015 -Mark
